A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, or contributed in any way to the MVLA College Fair this year. By the numbers: we estimate around 750 people attended, 85 colleges were represented, and 100% of colleges appreciated our student ambassadors and the delicious food made by the Culinary program. We will continue to host individual college representatives in the CCC through the first week of November.

The yearbook staff is hard at work on the 2027 Aerie yearbook! Purchase your yearbook for $100 at the LAHS webstore or finance office. Scholarships are also available at the finance office for qualifying students for $50.

Class of '27—now is also the time to schedule senior portraits. Sessions are filling up fast! Book your free yearbook session with a choice of drape, tux, or graduation gown provided by Now and Forever Studio in Los Gatos by calling the studio: 408-354-8660, if you do not plan to purchase photos. Book online if you’d like a full portrait session and plan to order photos. 

We’ll also host an on-campus free yearbook portrait session in November. The final yearbook deadline for senior portraits is Dec. 11.

Come to the our very own Eagle Theater on Wednesday 9/30 to be serenaded by the MVLA Bands. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the door. Then on Thursday 10/1, come on over to the Mountain View High School's Spartan Theater to hear the MVLA Orchestras! Tickets are sold through MVHS and can be purchased in advance online. We hope to see you there!

We are continuing our 15 min checkins with seniors until 10/6/2026.  School counselors are attending the UC and CSU conferences to get updates and resources for our students.  We have our new School Counseling Newsletter. HERE

Parents of Seniors: Reminder,  the UC Merced MAAP program closes on Sept. 30. Please encourage your senior to opt in and complete all required steps before the deadline. The FAFSA is open for the 2027-28 school year! Please complete this form as soon as possible to maximize financial aid opportunities. The CADAA will open on 10/01 for students who do not qualify for the FAFSA or who have a mixed-status family. We are here to help if you have any questions. 

Homecoming dance tickets are officially on sale! Here are the details.

Ticket sales window: Now through Friday, October 23 at 4:00 PM

Dance date: Saturday, October 24, 6:00-9:00 PM. This year's dance kicks off Homecoming Week!

The guest pass application is fully digital this year. Several people will each complete their own step online starting with the LAHS student, the guest, both parents/guardians, and an administrator from each school involved. Because it takes multiple people to finish their parts, we recommend starting well before the deadline. LAHS Student must initial the Guest pass application

We strongly encourage students to purchase tickets in advance through the ASB webstore or in person at the Finance Office. Tickets will also be available at the door, but only for LAHS students, and the door price is $50, significantly higher than advance pricing. Purchase online ticket here

October 2nd will be our Alumni/Retro Night at our home Football Game vs. Terra Nova. Help spread the word to invite former Los Altos Graduates to come out and join us. 

Please follow the online Athletic Registration Guidelines found on the LAHS Athletics Website. All athletes need a current physical.  Physicals are good for 1 calendar year.

Coaching positions available:

Did you know the average screen time for a teenager is 7-8 hours? Next week we will be hosting a workshop on the topic of self-care and healthy phone use on Wednesday, September 30th during ACT. Your student can come and learn about healthy methods of self-care and the impact of too much screen time. Your student will then be able to create a mini self-care kit at the end of the workshop! If your student is interested, please encourage them to reserve their spot on Minga under Juan Arreola.
