STEP 3 - BACK TO SCHOOL PREP & ORIENTATION

 

Back to School Prep & Orientation Days

LAHS Back to School Prep and Orientation Days prepare students for the first day of school (which is Monday, August 10th).

On Back to School Prep and Orientation Days, students will take school photos, pick-up their school ID, pick-up their class schedules, and check out textbooks and Chromebooks (if needed).

It is important that students check their MVLA email accounts! They will receive all Back to School Prep and Orientation Day correspondence via that account.

 

All students are required to attend their Prep/Orientation days:

  • Monday, August 3 – 10th grade: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
  • Monday, August 3 – 11th grade: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Monday, August 3 – 12th grade: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
    • Back to School Prep time for 10th, 11th & 12th graders takes approximately 1 hour. 
    • After Back to School Prep is complete, students may leave.
  • Tuesday, August 4 – 9th Grade & New Student Orientation: starts at 8:15 AM - 12:30 PM (lunch included)
    • ALL 9th graders and new students attend the ENTIRE time.
    • Bring a backback or bag
    • New transfer students (grades 10-12) will have their own orientation group on that day.

Unable to attend your Back to School Prep/Orientation date?

You can complete your tasks on the first day of school, August 10th, starting at 8:00am. 

  • Staff will be in the Quad prior to 1st period to direct students to their first period classes.
  • School pictures/ID photos will be taken starting at 8:00am.
  • Students can check out textbooks and Chromebooks at brunch, lunch, and after school.

On Back to School Prep Days, there will be LONG lines for student photos which are REQUIRED for student ID photos.
