The LAHS Pizza Cart is one of the many ways our parent community supports students, and we’re looking for volunteers to help serve pizza during lunch this school year.

Whether you’re a returning volunteer or considering it for the first time, we’d love to have you join us. Shifts are short, and even volunteering occasionally makes a meaningful difference. It’s a great opportunity to be on campus, support students, and connect with other LAHS families.

Schedules are available in AERIES over the weekend. If your student would like a printed schedule, they can come to the office before school starts on Monday, however a printed copy isn’t necessary.

Students must fill out the schedule change request form using their MVLA account. Parents/guardians are not able to directly access the form, however you may support your student through this process (form is linked). If you have a question, please reach out to your school counselor. You can find your counselor assignment in AERIES.

Sam Liccardo's office is pleased to share that applications for the 2026-2027 cohort of the Youth Advisory Committee are now open. This program is designed for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in helping our community tackle challenging regional and national issues. This program will allow students to work collaboratively, meet directly with he and his staff, and hone their analytical and communication skills.

Registration for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge is now open! Since 2016, over 50,000 middle and high schoolers across the United States have created apps representing their passions, values, and service to our community. Sam Liccardo welcomes LAHS students to participate once again this year.  

The program welcomes students of all coding skill levels, including beginners and provides resources to help students learn. Participants may register individually or in teams of up to four and use any programming language (e.g., C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or block code) and any platform (e.g., PC, web, tablet, robot, or mobile device).  

For this year’s challenge, students create an app that helps residents access vital federal, state, or local benefits and services.  Students may learn more about federal agencies and the App Challenge to inform submissions.  Apps are due on October 26, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
