Registration for the
2026 Congressional App Challenge is now open! Since 2016, over 50,000 middle and high schoolers across the United States have created apps representing their passions, values, and service to our community. Sam Liccardo welcomes LAHS students to participate once again this year.
The program welcomes students of all coding skill levels, including beginners and provides resources to
help students learn. Participants may register individually or in teams of up to four and use any programming language (e.g., C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or block code) and any platform (e.g., PC, web, tablet, robot, or mobile device).
For this year’s challenge, students create an app that helps residents access vital federal, state, or local benefits and services. Students may learn more about
federal agencies and the
App Challenge to inform submissions.
Apps are due on October 26, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. If students have any questions, don’t hesitate to email CAC.Liccardo@mail.house.gov or call 408-245-2339.
