Want to be part of the magic behind the parade?
Join us for float building and assembly on Thursday, October 29, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM in the parking lot. All students are welcome to stop by, lend a hand, and help our class councils bring their floats to life. Come for an hour or stay for the whole evening, and show off your Eagle spirit while you build!
Every float you help finish will be rolling down Main Street on Friday, so this is your chance to be part of the parade, even if you are not marching.
Wear closed-toe shoes or clothes that can get messy. ASB and Class Councils will provide some snacks.

Our Haunted HOCO 2026 shirt, designed by an LAHS student, is on sale for $10, and it is the perfect way to cap off Spirit Week. Grab yours and wear it proudly on Friday, October 30, then keep it on for the parade and the football game that night!

A few reminders to help everyone have a great parade day:
-
School day: Students are expected to attend all of their classes on Friday (Periods 2, 4, and 6), and attendance will be taken as usual.
-
Lunch: Lunch will be served on campus, so students have time to eat before heading downtown.
-
Parking: Parking in downtown Los Altos will be extremely limited, so we recommend walking, biking, or carpooling.
-
Pack light: Bring as few items as possible and plan to take everything with you when you leave. LAHS is not responsible for items left behind at the staging area or along the route.
-
Staging area: The staging area at 288 First Street is very crowded. Only approved advisors and students walking in the parade should be there. Families and friends are welcome to watch along Main Street!
-
Be a great Eagle: Students represent LAHS downtown and should follow all school rules. This is a family event with kids of all ages, so please do not throw candy or other objects into the crowd, and leave air horns and noisemakers at home. Conduct issues may result in consequences at school, including not being able to attend the football game that evening or the Homecoming Dance.
|
Thank you to all of our groups walking in the parade! Here are the key details.
-
Final check-in is 1:10 PM at the staging area, 288 First Street. Groups that are not checked in by this time will be removed from the parade.
-
Group representative: One representative from each club or team will be excused from class up to 5 minutes early at the end of 6th period to check in, pick up the banner, and save the group’s spot in line. That student’s parent or guardian will be contacted to confirm permission to leave campus early. If your representative cannot do this, email Ms. Seagraves at Jeanine.Seagraves@mvla.net with the name of another club member by Tuesday, October 27.
-
Everyone else: All other club members and athletes should head to the staging area right after lunch and arrive no later than 1:10 PM.
-
Banners and posters: Please return them to the Banner Collection Table at the end of the route. If you miss it, bring them to Ms. Seagraves at the main office in the Student Services Building.
-
Class council officers: Plan to bring your float back to campus after the parade for disassembly. Please keep whoever is driving the car close by, since the trailer and car need to be moved as soon as the float comes apart. Reusable items from the float will be saved for use for next year’s parade.
|
Eagles, please join us in congratulating the 20 members of this year’s Homecoming Court! These students represent the very best of LAHS spirit, kindness, and community, and we could not be prouder of them.
Click below to meet each member of the Court, then come cheer them on at the Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 30 at 1:45 PM on Main Street in downtown Los Altos.
|
Voting for the two Court Royals begins at the HOCO dance on Saturday, October 24th through Wednesday, October 28th.
Court Royals will be announced at the halftime show during the football game on Friday, October 30th at 7pm.
Rank Choice Voting is used based on ASB Constitution Voting rules. Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name.
|
What a night! On Friday, September 18, students watched the sunset and a movie on the big screen on the football field, snuggled up with blankets and chairs. Class councils sold delicious snacks to raise money for their Homecoming floats, so thank you to everyone who came out and supported them. Those floats will be rolling down Main Street before we know it!
