2026 AP Testing Registration is Open!


Registration is now open for Los Altos AP Students to register and pay for their 2026 AP exams. Registration will be open from September 14 to November 6th at 11:59 pm. Registration AFTER November 6th WILL NOT be accepted. Please complete the following steps to register for your exams. Students must complete BOTH steps before November 6th at 11:59 pm to register for all Fall semester or Year long AP Classes.

 

Two-Step AP Registration Process

(1)  Make sure your access code is entered into College Board (CB) to access your classes AP Classroom

  • Teachers have posted their Access Codes for each class and period in Google Classroom or Canvas  

  • Log Into College Board and enter your Access code HERE to join your class section

  • Once you complete this step, the banner on the main page will show your active AP Registrations. Check the bottom of each Icon to make sure it says "Yes" or "Registered"

  • IMPORTANT: Entering the access code in AP Classroom does not register you for the AP exam. It only registers you for the classroom section. You must complete Step 2 and pay for your exams. This is the most commonly missed step resulting in exam cancellation. 


**Taking a Spring Semester AP? You DO NOT need to register for your exam until the spring. However if you wish to sign up now, you are more than welcome to. Your access code will be given to you once you complete Step 2.


(2) Register and Pay for Exams in Total Registration (TR) 

  • Log In to Total Registration 

    • If you are a NEW AP Student, create an account with the SAME email as your college board account.

    • If you are a RETURNING AP student, make sure you use the same account as you have in previous years. You may need to reset your password.

  • You will need the following to complete Total Registration:

    • Your full student ID#

    • Parent(s) contact information

    • Your SSD# for accommodations (if approved) 

    • A form of payment (credit card, debit card, or check)

  • Are you In AVID or part of the Free/Reduced Lunch Program the 2026-2027 school year? Please follow the instructions in TR to let us know. You MUST select only one option. If you select both, your registration will be put on hold.

  • Once you login and follow the prompts, make sure to pay for your exams.

    • Exams are $120 per exam

    • If you are seeking financial assistance and are not in AVID or in Free/Reduced lunch, please use this link to request approval for F/R.

***Students must complete BOTH steps to be registered for their exams. If only one step is complete, exam materials will not be ordered***
