  • Dates: LA FH will have summer practices on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting Tuesday, June 23rd. The sessions will continue in July, ending no later than July 23rd. More info on 
    Times: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
    Location: Back Turf Field (between tennis courts & large gym)
     
    Who should come to summer practices?
    We welcome all girls who are interested in playing field hockey next fall at LAHS. No field hockey experience required! We get lots of new players every year who have not ever played before. Summer is a great time for new players to try out the sport and experienced players to work on their individual skills. If you like to run, get some exercise and compete and, at the same time, make some new friends before school starts, come on out!
     
    Player practice gear: 
    Please wear comfortable, athletic clothes and wear running shoes, turf shoes or cleats. 
    Bring a large full water bottle. 
    If you have shinguards (either field hockey or soccer shinguards, bring them. 
    If you have a fh stick, bring it. if you don't have a stick, you can use one of our loaner sticks.

    Team Practice Schedules (after tryouts are completed)

    This season, we are going to stack our JV and Varsity practices. JVs will practice immediately after school. Varsity will come in towards the end of JV practice. Both teams will do their fitness/conditioning workout together. After conditioning, JVs will be done and varsity will practice.

    Practice times (starting Mon, 8/17).
    Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays:
    JV practice: 4:00-6:00pm
    Varsity practice: 5:00-7:30pm

    Wednesdays:
    JV practice: 3:30-5:30pm
    Varsity practice: 4:30-7:00pm

    Fridays:
    JV practice: 3:30-4:30pm
    Varsity practice: 3:30-5:30pm

    Saturdays:
    Varsity practice (only): 8:00-10:00am

    ** Again, if the stadium turf is not yet done OR we find a new JV coach, then the schedule will likely change. So, STAY TUNED!

    Game Schedules
    SCVAL League games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays this year.
    Out-of-League games are on many different days. So, please check the schedule carefully.

  • Fall Tryouts Information:

    • Fall tryouts will begin Friday, Aug 7th. Tryouts will continue for the entire week Mon 8/10 - Friday 8/14. Tryout attendance is mandatory.

    • ALL athletes are welcome - no experience required!

    • Player Gear: Wear/bring athletic clothing, running shoes, a full water bottle, a hockey stick, shinguards, and a mouthguard. We provide loaner sticks. Shinguards/mouthguard not needed to start.

    • FH Tryouts schedule:
      NOTE! Please review the tryouts schedule carefully. All tryouts sessions are NOT for all players. We do have a couple of tryout sessions just for JV or Varsity.

      ** Please stay tuned to ParentSquare for more updates as we approach August 7th. IF the main turf field is not yet finished by then, we may need to change the schedule to fit in football and hockey practices...

      Friday, 8/7 - 3:30-5:30 pm - All players
      Saturday, 8/8 - 8:00-9:30 pm - JV players only
      Monday, 8/10 - 4:00-6:30 pm - All players
      Tuesday, 8/11 - 4:00-6:30 pm - All players
      Wednesday, 8/12 - 3:30-6:00 pm - All players
      Thursday, 8/13 - 4:00-6:30 pm - Varsity players only
      Friday, 8/14 - 3:30-5:30 pm - All players

      ** NOTE! If you are a player who plans to tryout for the LA FH team, but will NOT be able to join tryouts on Friday 8/7 or Sat 8/8, you MUST email me and let me know that you will miss those 2 days. This is especially important for returning players!!

    • Location: LAHS Back field

    • Requirements: 
      • Open to all cleared 9th–12th-grade girls. Wear/bring athletic clothing, running shoes, full water bottle, a hockey stick, shinguards, and a mouthguard. We can provide loaner sticks. Shinguards/mouthguard not needed to start.
      • Athletes must be registered and cleared through Home Campus.
