This year marked the first Northern California District Championship following California’s transition to the district system, bringing together some of the most competitive robotics teams in the world. Our team rose to the challenge, competing against programs that frequently advance to—and even win—the world championship in Houston. Although we did not qualify for the world tournament, our student-led team demonstrated exceptional skill and innovation, earning a state-level award for our robot’s autonomous features, including advanced zone-based logic that allows it to navigate the field and protect itself from obstacles. This recognition places our work among the best in the state. Additionally, team captain Riya Mehrotra was honored with a state-level Leadership Award and will be celebrated at the world championship event in Houston.
