East Meets West

This week, our Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Latin students participated in an exciting celebration of cultural exploration and language learning hosted by our World Language Department.

This initiative, generously funded by the MVLA Foundation, brought authentic cross-cultural experiences directly into our classrooms. Each world language student participated in two different cultural activities during their regular class periods, exploring and sharing various aspects of diverse cultures through art and sports.

EV Charger Upgrade

Last weekend, George Lee from OPF Energy completed a breaker upgrade for our EV charging system. With that work now done, all regular EV chargers are able to run at full speed, up to 48A (11 kW).
As a reminder, community members are welcome to charge EVs on campus on the weekends and whenever classes are not in session during the week.

Wellness Events

Thank you to all the students who participated in our various March events. From bracelet making to learning how to manage stress, we have appreciated everyone’s participation and engagement in taking a wellness break!

Next week, we will be hosting a do-it-yourself magnet crafting event on Wednesday, April 1st during ACT. Your student(s) will be encouraged to take time to scrapbook, craft, and draw their own magnets to put on any magnetic surface! Crafting encourages our bodies and minds to slow down, be present, and provides a break from daily stressors. Please encourage your student(s) to take a break and participate in this craft by reserving their spot on Minga under Juan Arreola.

With April right around the corner, check out our April calendar for upcoming events!

Counseling Department

Beginning on April 13th, counselors will be meeting with 10th graders for the Sophomore Workshops. The workshops are part of the MVLA School District’s comprehensive counseling curriculum and the official grade-level meeting/intervention for sophomores. They are 45-minute small groups focused on social emotional learning and career development. These collaborative lessons will start with their school counselor for the first 20 minutes and then transition into the College & Career Center for a lesson on integrating interests, talents, and goals for career exploration in Naviance in a larger group setting.

Students will be notified of their appointments in two ways:
1. They will receive an email prior to their assigned workshop informing them of the date, time, and location and on the day of their assigned workshop,.
2. Students will receive a Hall Pass notification in Minga and will report to a designated area on the second floor of the Student Services Building (Conference Room, ASB room, or CCC).

The workshops will run on block days only from April 14th through May 1. Due to limited meeting space and time constraints, rescheduling may be unlikely. We appreciate your help in having your student check their email and Minga as well as encouraging them to attend during their assigned time.

Grad Night Sponsorship--Help our Seniors!

Dear Los Altos community members,
The LAHS Grad Night Committee is writing to invite your support for the Los Altos High School Class of 2026 Grad Night.
Grad Night is a long-standing tradition that provides seniors with a safe, substance-free celebration after graduation. Community support is essential—not only to make the event possible, but to ensure it is inclusive. Donations help cover tickets for students who cannot afford to attend, so every senior has the opportunity to participate.
We offer the following sponsorship levels:
  • Gold Sponsor – $2,000+ (8 student tickets)
  • Logo on event signage, website, and social media; recognition in communications; verbal acknowledgment at Grad Night
  • Silver Sponsor – $1,000+ (4 student tickets)
  • Logo on signage, website, and social media; recognition in communications; verbal acknowledgment
  • Bronze Sponsor – $500+ (2 student tickets)
  • Name recognition on website
All donations are tax-deductible. We welcome support at any level and especially value contributions that help ensure no student is left out due to cost.
Thank you for helping make Grad Night safe, memorable, and accessible for every LAHS senior.
Any questions please contact Elizabeth.Thompson@theAgencyre.com or 650-823-8904.
