Students and parents are encouraged to take advantage of the many services offered by the Center. Hours are daily from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. (The Center is closed during 4th period on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; and 3rd period on Thursday for lunch).
We use Naviance as a tool to disseminate a wide range of information. Please make sure student emails are current. Parents should add their emails to the student accounts. We encourage students to update their prospective college and application lists to receive college-specific information which comes to my attention. I often email details regarding college information sessions being held locally, scholarship opportunities, and other information pertinent to students' interests.
Our computers allow students to explore college and career choices through Naviance and other programs and enable students to contact college websites. SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and ACT test applications are available as well as UC and CSU admission material. Financial aid and scholarship materials are available as well. Students and parents may check out college guides, career resource books, and test preparation materials.
Representatives of colleges from around the country visit the Center to speak with interested students. We have close to 100 college visits from early September through November. The dates of these visits are posted on Naviance. The Center is also a source of occupational information for students via the Brown Bag Lunch Series.
Throughout the year, the Center, in collaboration with the Counseling Department, sponsors evening programs pertaining to college admission information and financial aid. For further information or individual assistance, contact Laura Duran by email at
We are fortunate to another member of the College and Career Center! Due to the generosity of the MVLA Foundation, Angela Price is available to meet with students individually. Her office is located in the Tutorial Center. Ms. Price can be reached by email at
