California Scholarship Federation

What is CSF?
CSF stands for California Scholarship Federation. It is an academic honors society for active and academically minded students. Being a member of CSF looks great on college applications, gets you special recognition at graduation, and can provide scholarships to active members.

Cool. How do I join?
At the beginning of every semester, you can pick up an application from Señora Salsman de Rodriguex in Room 911. Freshmen can’t apply for membership until the start of the second semester.

Uh-oh, an application. Does that mean it’s hard to get in?
Students are admitted into CSF solely based on their semester grades. While some students find it difficult to get a high enough GPA, others have no trouble. But don’t worry—if you think CSF is right for you, then you probably are the type of person who won’t have too much trouble getting in.

How do I pay my annual dues?
Pay $5 at the Finance office or pay your dues online through the Webstore ($5 + transaction fee). Type "CSF" in the search bar at the top and it will take you to the payment page.

What do I have to do to be a member? Do I have to do work?
No. At Los Altos High School, CSF is an academic honor and is not an active club.

How do I become a Gold Seal Bearer or Life Member?
Students who have a minimum of 4 semesters of membership, one being in the senior year, qualify for Gold Seal status.  Gold Seal graduates receive special recognition at graduation.  Students are notified mid-May by the CSF adviser.

I have more questions. Who do I talk to?
Most questions can be answered by Señora Salsman de Rodriguex, who can be found in Room 911.
